Apple Helps Whale Trail Shift 38,000 Units Over Launch Weekend

That quirky little iOS game Whale Trail, with the famous bloke soundtrack, has done rather well for itself -- selling over 38,000 copies through iTunes during its first four days on sale.

UK developer ustwo claims a significant amount of that early doors success came courtesy of Apple, which almost immediately crowned the game iPhone Game of The Week on iTunes, after only one day on sale.

But despite achieving impressive numbers and user feedback thus far, the £0.69 game needs to continue selling at this rate for a very long time -- the developer says it needs to shift 300,000 copies at that price in order to comfortably cover its £150,000 development budget.
