Beeb Plays Gunpowder, Treason and Plot with New Dr Who game

By Sam Gibbs on at

Yes, that's right the good ol'BBC is putting your Licence Fee to good use and is creating a new Dr Who adventure game that'll recreate the treasonous ways of Guy Fawkes and his half-arsed attempt to blow up Parliament.

The game will feature my least favourite Doctor, Matt Smith, as well as that bloke from Two and a Half Pints and The Royle Family, Ralf Little, plus 'one of the UK's best-known actresses' who's identity the Beeb is keeping mum about.

Here's the plot:

"The Gunpowder Plot is set in 1605. Guy Fawkes and his gang are hell bent on blowing up the Houses of Parliament and the Doctor becomes embroiled in their scheme when it emerges he's not the only alien in town... Old monsters return and new threats must be faced... By you, playing as one of the TARDIS time travellers!"

The best bit though is that it'll be available come October 31st, just in time for Guy Fawkes night and for the low, low price of free (OK, we've already paid for it through the Licence Fee; but still, better than nothing right?) in the UK. [BBC via The Next Web]
