The In Focus series has been fantastic so far. These should be required viewing for kids studying for a History GCSE. They need to understand how the war came about as well as the consequences.
That image of all the ships at the beach, just goes to show how big of an operation it was. You just don’t get that feeling from the pictures took from the boats.
And I love that picture of the soldiers sat down in ruined France. It’s easy to forget the human side of the soldiers when all you see are the pictures of them either shooting at each other or the machines used.

Agreed. The In Focus sections have been fantastic thus var. For me, the photographs are the most fascinating. In the age of photoshop and digital cameras, I am always astounded by the amazing shots that more often than not pop up in the In Focus bits.
