BT has updated us on its efforts to bring its faster fibre broadband network to the UK, claiming that certain areas will get staggering 'Fibre to the Premises' max download speeds of 300Mbps from spring of next year.
The company has also been given the go-ahead to double the speeds offered to customers using its less thrilling 'Fibre to the Cabinet' product, which will see max potential speeds there doubling from 40Mpbs to 80Mbps.
The faster FTTP service is set to launch later this month, if you can actually call it a launch. A mere six UK exchanges will be enabled, covering the areas of Ashford, Bradwell Abbey in Milton Keynes, Highams Park in North London, Chester South, St Austell in Cornwall and York, which will gain access to a 110Mbps option.
