After yesterday’s first leaked pic of the Samsung-made Google Nexus Prime phone, we now know it has a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED screen. But what does it look like on film? Err…
As you can see from the video below, it doesn’t appear on screen long, with Samsung’s teaser video highlighting how “some things just go better together.” Like…Android and Samsung? We get the drift Samsung, but show off a bit more of the hardware next time, yeah? [BriefMobile via Phandroid -- Thanks, Darrell!]

*Squuueeeeeeeeeel!*
I’d like to second that *Squuueeeeeeeeeel!* and raise you an OMFG!!!!!
I wonder if it’s the screen or just the glass on top that’s curved.
If it’s like the Nexus S (and why wouldn’t it be?) then the screen itself is slightly curved.
Exciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiteeeeeeeeeeeeee
You’re Welcome Kat.
This is a perfectly timed “leak”. Will lots of people disgruntled at Apple for their tiny spec bump, Samsung and Google swoop in with a phone that makes the iPhone look like an ugly brick.
Any guess what those three copper-looking dots are? Magnetic power plug? Mini LED indicators?
Dock connectors. The Nexus one had them. Basically it allows the dock to communicate with the phone. I don’t think you can charge through them or shift data but you can set various things to happen when you put the phone down into it, Like switching on wifi or displaying the clock app.
Look at 24 seconds in on the video, there is an app in the Android market for the UNPACKED event (oct 11). One menu item is labeled “new prduct” and is not available till then.
I hope ICS/Nexus Prime has been worth the wait, not sure the tech community can take another lacklustre product announcement!
Also a note to Samsung – even if ICS is only an incremental update; if it’s not powering my Galaxy S2 by the end of the year heads are going to roll!
I will also be disappointed if we don’t get the update, but let’s be honest, no heads will be rolling.
I’d like to second that emotion. Or maybe i’ll just palm the S2 onto the missus and get this for myself.
Interesting things to note:
- Side dock connectors??
- On curved screen, all glass and no buttons
Looks like Google/Samsung will be pushing the proverbial envelope next real soon.
Well someones got to do it, since it apparently takes Apple over 2 years to come out with a new phone.
Is it sad to get this excited over a glimpse of a profile of a device? I think not. I can’t wait to get this.
I am intrigue
I’m not ashamed to say that I just pee’d myself a little…
