Ofcom is aiming to start up its controversial ‘three strikes’ system in 2013 to tackle piracy. The scheme will see notification letters sent out to file sharers, while ISPs will have to keep track of alleged infringers.
The ‘obligations code’, which Ofcom hopes will see ISPs start to implement the tracking infrastructure by early 2012, has yet to be finalised. A judicial review is also under way, which could push back piracy plans even further, whether or not the government signs off on the legislation. [TechRadar]

And encryption goes mass market, hardly a solution.
This was suggested a LONG time ago I remember doing an English speech on piracy and it was like 3/4 years ago I think :S does anyone else remember it?
No I’m sorry I don’t remember your English speech lol
But it was only three-quarters of a year ago – you must be able to remember…
So, we can pirate until then?
There is always an easy around these things. The only way to combat piracy is for studios to offer there films free over the Internet with adverts in them. People would much rather watch a high quality version of a film with adverts in it, than a shaky cinema copy.
