TomTom GO LIVE Top Gear Edition, With "Stig Mode"

By Gary Cutlack on at

If the novelty of watching three old, tired men being cynical about the performance claims of electric cars hasn't yet worn thin, here's a new toy for you -- TomTom GO LIVE Top Gear edition. It has Jeremy Clarkson's voice.

As well as turn-by-turn directions from the infuriated Clarkson, the updated special edition satnav tool also includes a "Stig Mode" -- which turns all sounds off. It's a button to turn the sound off, basically.

You also get a few Top Gear themed places of interest on the maps, like the famous test track, plus a collection of custom icons and some "cool images" when the device boots and shuts down. Some wallpapers, basically.

But it's a proper satnav underneath, of course, with TomTom's HD Traffic feature to let you know where the roads are blocked (by those "bloody caravans" no doubt), lane guidance for complicated junctions like that one in Hemel Hempstead and much more. For £189. [TomTom]
