Apple’s doing its own Black Friday sale and like Amazon’s, we can get in on the potential bargain action too. It’s unlikely Apple will carve much off the asking price, but it’ll be worth checking out on Friday, just in case. [Apple via SlashGear]

So Apple will only be highly overpricing their stuff instead of extremely overpricing it? Gosh, I can barely contain my excitement.
Tiny % off 20% VAT? Why thank you!
You never know, maybe this year they’ll be feeling more generous.
I *really* want a mac mini to run my home setup – although I am unsure whether to go for that, build my own htpc with a mini-itx atom board, or just get an appletv!
Mac minis are horribly underpowered depending on what you really need them for; but if you’re willing to go with an alternative atom set up, you’re probably fine.
literally just running HD video, music services, streaming and the odd bit of web browsing! definitely not as the “main” pc
Try using XBMC, I use an Acer Aspire REVO 3600 but I think there is a new version out 3700.
There is a guide on the xbmc forum on how to set it up, its pretty simple.
Don’t know if its been updated to look at new computers. The 3600 is a few years old, you can probably pick one up 2nd hand for £100
I run the cheapest Mac Mini (2gb ram) as a media player to play my blu-ray rips and 1080p footage from my DSLR and its great. But to be honest if you just want a VLC mule the Mac Mini might not be great value, (I got mine cheap because it had a scratch on its side) although the mini does look fantastic sitting next to your TV compared to the plastic competition.
I mistakenly read the tweet for this post as ‘£2 iPod nano anyone?’ it’s too early in the morning for this…..
I would be amazed if Apple gets even below £100 for the iPod Nano.
Highly overpriced accessory black deals anyone?
or even better.. buy a macbook pro, an iphone 4s and get a shuffle free..
Sorry but can’t help it, Apple and good ‘deals’ dont fit together
That is outrageous!! They have free engraving on all iPods AND iPads. Now if a free engraving on a nice new £399 iPad2 isn’t a good deal then I don’t know what is!
How about buy a G4 Powerbook 8 years ago and still use it today… It’s been the best ‘deal’ ever!
Hey, Maybe the iPhone 4 bumpers they had to give away free due to Antennagate will be reduced too.
It’ll probably be something like 5% off RRP… they won’t drop their prices too much as they know people are prepared to pay them anyway.
