Following the success of subscription services through Newsstand, Apple’s given the go-ahead for a game subscription service from Big Fish Games. For £4.99 a month you’ll have unlimited streaming access to a whole host of iPad games.
Unfortunately users will have to be connected to the internet to play the games, as they’ll be “streamed” to the user’s device. Whether that’ll mean OnLive-style streaming — the iPad is just a dumb monitor and controller — or whether it’ll be a Steam-style activation via the internet to prevent piracy, we don’t know. I’m presuming the latter. The service will be available at an introductory price of £2.99 a month till next year, but would you pay for a subscription service for just one publisher’s games on your iPad? And do you play enough games on said-tablet to justify another monthly cost? I certainly don’t. [Bloomberg via The Verge]

My other half is a big fan of Hidden Object games which Big fish do a ton of, she is also on the point of getting an iPad looks like this will be right up her street.
I can’t believe you willingly choose to spend time with someone who wants an iPad. It’s like I don’t know you at all, Darrell
How many women actually prefer and buy androids over idevices?
I’ve mellowed somewhat in recent years Kat. My beloved is less technically minded then I and I can’t be there to sort out her tech problems all the time. She has an Android phone though and will be inheriting my desire as soon as my Galaxy Nexus turns up.
Good to hear it. And I’ve got a similar problem to you — I’m an Android lover, but the husband is an Apple fan. At least it makes conversation interesting…!
