HMV Launches Streaming Video Site -- Mainstream Entertainment from £3.75

By Gary Cutlack on at

HMV is the latest company to offer us an online streaming video shop, launching its HMV On-demand service today. It's another way for us all to not bother watching Bad Teacher.

The technical stuff is provided by white label video specialist FilmFlex Movies, which claims to be the "biggest provider of VOD movie rental services outside of the US" -- with Sony Pictures Television and Disney also joining the joint venture.

The site says it has all the major Hollywood film studios onboard through FilmFlex's involvement, with over 30 mainstream and indie distributors providing their catalogues.

Films can be streamed online or downloaded for offline viewing, and terms and conditions are pretty much identical to those offered by the likes of Google and the rest -- once purchased you have a 30-day period to start watching your film, but once you initially press play there's a 48-hour window to complete the viewing.
