If you have an affinity for Android Tablets, you’ll certainly fawn over the next generation Exynos 5250 chipset, complete with a 2 gigahertz, dual-core ARM Cortex A15 CPU and a GPU capable of powering a 3D display at 2560×1600.
SammyHub says the Exynos 5250′s graphics performance will be 4x more powerful than previous generation and will start production in the second quarter of next year. [SammyHub via Engadget]

With the rate these types of chips are being developed I wonder how long it will be until games typically seen on the PC will be running from devices using ARM-based chips. Hopefully Windows 8 will give it that extra push.
The problem will be a battery to keep up with the newer chipsets. I don’t think this thing won’t last long with current battery tech – it might mean thicker form factors or crappier battery life.
As things get faster they also get smaller which means less power or at the least the same power requirements as older chips.
Still a way to go, ARM chips (like Atoms) are still use in-order instruction sets, which means poor multi-tasking and a serious lack of real horse power compared to X86.
This will change of course with next gen ARM designs already being shown off with out-of-order instructions.
