Have you been curious about Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango)? Maybe you want to try it out without standing around in some store? Microsoft just made it easy to do exactly that on your iOS or Android phone. No installations required.
It’s super simple. All you have to do is go to http://aka.ms/wpdemo in your iOS or Android browser. You’ll be directed to an interactive HTML5 page that gives you a very detailed introduction to the look and feel of Windows Phone 7.5. I just took it for a little spin on an Android phone and it works really well. Will this lure any iOS/Android users to the Windows side? We shall see, but either way, check it out for yourself. This is inspiring for coming up with new ideas for creating a website for mobiles. I’ve tried out the WP7 phone before but it’s funny that just launching it in a browser makes a difference.
I have to say, that is quite a smart little idea. I really enjoyed using that demo on my phone, but still the question is the long term use of using it, it could wear thin quite quickly and flaws can begin to show.
Just like using any phone OS in time, but regardless, would be more convincing for me if I planned to upgrade my phone anytime soon.
Excellent idea. And the demo runs pretty well to show off WP OS.
Excellent idea…do like the layout of it!
I tried it out and found the experience clunky, unresponsive and very difficult and confusing to navigate. The black and red design looks aesthetically pleasing, but it ends there for me. A mess.
Or even easier, on Android you can choose your UI to be whatever you wish, if you really want the kiddie-phone look…

The WP7 Launcher programmes on Android only give you the tiles on the homescreen. It misses out on the best bits of WP7 once you get PAST that. They also aren’t nearly as ‘live’ as the ones on actual WP7..
Had a go on this earlier on – got to admit, quite impressed how it works so well!
I’ve played with WP7 before – in the browser it looks just as smooth
I hope they start creating better mobile websites. I mean everybody – not just Microsoft – if they looked and worked as nicely as that, I’d visit frequently
This is a good idea from Microsoft’s marketing department (better then having Alex James flog your phones). Of course it had zero chance of converting me, since I have already tried out and rejected the real thing.
