The updated version 2.6 of the Android Skype app has added in a couple of traditional desktop messaging features, with users able to share photos and pre-recorded video through chat windows. Plus it's been enhanced for Tegra-powered tablets.

According to Skype, the updated app will now offer "improved battery life and video quality" for those who happen to be using it on a Tegra 2 Android tablet, which covers most of the popular makes of Google-powered tablets out there today.

You also get a refreshed front end, featuring an automatic sign-in option if you choose to enable it, plus there's now a clear "sign out" button. Because some users had apparently been having trouble logging themselves out. [Skype app]
