According to Asus, its Eee Pad Transformer Prime should be available to pre-order from today, with the company bundling a keyboard dock in with the new tablet and asking for £499 to get your name on the list.
We can’t actually find the new quad-core Tegra 3 tablet listed on any of its suggested retail partners, though, so it looks like the announcement is a little premature.
There is some good news, though. Asus has once again confirmed the imminent arrival of Android 4.0 for the Transformer Prime, claiming the upgrade will “soon to be available through an over-the-air update.”
It’ll need to get the tablet into shops first, though, as this alleged pre-order campaign doesn’t actually come with any firm release date. January 2012 is still the most concrete launch window we have so far. [Asus UK]
UPDATE
Literally seconds after we hit “Publish” on the above speculation, Ebuyer popped up with a pre-order page – claiming the Tranny Prime will arrive here on January 12th.

Dear Santa.
I have been SO GOOD. Literally didn’t cause trouble even once.
Not coming out with ICW as standard? Old school Tranny!
There’s no school like the old school.
Ah huh. Mmmmm. This is one tranny I’m not ashamed to be hot for!
Well I know what I’m buying with my works budget
Can anyone see anywhere it definitively states that the keyboard dock is included? I’ve contacted eBuyer about it.
Confirmed with eBuyer, dock included, choice of two colours, here’s the link for both:
