Orange and T-Mobile Combining 3G Data Networks From Next Week

By Gary Cutlack on at

The Everything Everywhere conglomerate has already given Orange and T-Mobile users the chance to make calls via each others' networks, but soon it'll be flipping the switch on 3G mobile data roaming as well.

In an event EE's press people would like us to call the "big 3G switch-on," all 27 million of the two networks' customers will be able to share 3G data connections as well as the existing call roaming, with a phased roll-out of the scheme gradually covering the country from region to region.

The data switch-on should start next week, and the plan is to cover all T-Mobile and Orange users across the country "over the next few months" according to the new super-network's people. [EE - Thanks Darrell!]
