This weekend saw the last lunar eclipse until 2014, giving lucky stargazers in the northern US and Canada, as well as Australia and New Zealand, a stunning view of our own celestial satellite. The moon shone a glorious red as the Earth passed between the Sun and the Moon, looking closer than ever.
Fortunately for the likes of us who missed out, skywatchers from around the world captured some stunning images. Even in good ol'Blighty, the moon looked amazing on the 10th, but not quite as spectacular as the blood-red image captured above. Oh Moon, you never cease to amaze me. [Flickr]
