Sky Rolls Out a New 3D Test Card Featuring Zoë Ball, For the 10 Brits That Own a 3DTV

By Sam Gibbs on at

The famous 2D BBC test card got an update to HD with the launch of BBC HD, but now Sky's bringing test cards into the 3D realm with its own 3D version featuring Zoë Ball and her sidekick Mr 3D.

The pair will be broadcast on Sky 3D from today and will guide viewers through some crucial 3D TV setup steps. From colour and contrast balancing to aspect ratios and where to sit to get the best 3D experience -- the duo will help you get the most out of your 3D TV.

The test card will air daily at 00.45 each night on Sky 3D, and will be available on the Sky website and Sky Anytime on-demand.

Let's just hope you don't see it more than that; technical issues in this day-and-age should be avoidable. If you're a fan of 3D you've probably already got your TV set-up just right, but on the off-chance you haven't and actually have Sky 3D, it might be worth checking out -- even if it has real potential to be just a tad patronising.
