TalkTalk's Porn Filter Fails to Stop Massive Porn Site

By Gary Cutlack on at

A mother who claims she was "testing" TalkTalk's porn filter by having a look around Pornhub was shocked to find that the ISP's filtering system failed to block the site. As if the name wasn't enough of a clue.

TalkTalk's HomeSafe feature has been designed to block sites at ISP level, so there's apparently no need for parents or concerned individuals to try to block sites on their PCs. Although, in the case of Pornhub, it appears there was a purposeful attempt by the site to evade blocking.

The site was showing the HomeSafe blocked message as usual, but it had been relegated to a small frame within the page usually reserved for display advertising -- leaving the vast array of pornography visible to all.

TalkTalk couldn't say whether this was a deliberate attempt at circumventing the block. No doubt plenty of TalkTalk staff are "testing" the system right now. [Telegraph]
