It's safe to say the novelty of those giant animated building projections has worn off. But just before I was ready to declare the fad dead, this giant playable pinball machine comes along and makes the idea awesome again.
Urban Flipper was created for the 2011 Fête des Lumière festival in Lyon, France, and instead of 3D animations making it look like the building has come to life, it throws a massive game of pinball on the side of the Célestins theater.
Players control the flippers using a couple of buttons located near the projection booth, without the aid of being able to tilt the building to occasionally steer the ball. And if you think the game is big, wait until you see the size of the coin slot. [YouTube via Laughing Squid]
