Virgin Media's got something on offer for the more casual internet user, promising to give its customers "free lifetime security & parental controls" for peace of mind.
The updated Virgin Media Security offering is provided by Radialpoint and based around Trend Micro’s Titanium system, which is usually a paid-for service costing around £39 for a year. It's previously been available for users of Virgin's "Large" broadband service, now all of its four million users will have access to the cloud-based tools for free.
And there is something in this for Virgin. It's also launching a product it calls Identity+, which is a vague identity theft solution that rebadges Garlik's DataPatrol and charges £2.50 a month for it. [Virgin Media]
