This video shows 22-year-old Australian tourist Erin Langworthy bungee jumping from the Victoria falls bridge, 364 feet (111 meters) over the Zambesi River. Just a normal tourist video until the cord breaks and she falls into the crocodile-infested waters.
Miraculously, she survived after hurting herself quite badly and swimming out of the river rapids with her legs still tied. Fun!
Talking to 9news, the Erin said that it was quite rough:
It went black straight away and I felt like I’d been slapped all over. The water was going quite quickly and then I started to hear the roaring. It’s like being in waves, you get sucked under and then you pop up so it’s very disorienting, I didn’t know which was up or down.
Not scary enough? It gets worse:
It was quite scary because a couple of times the rope actually got caught on some rocks or debris. I actually had to swim down and yank the bungee cord out of whatever it was caught on to make it to the surface.
Fortunately, she survived the crash, the crocodiles and the rapids with just a fractured collar bone and massive bruises. [Channel 9 via El Mundo (In Spanish)]

Where are said Crocodiles ? From the look of the rapids I’m thinking a few miles downstream.
For crocodile-infested waters, read unnecessary sensationalism.
Those waters really are crocodile infested.
However the real focus should be on the stupidity of this person jumping at Vic falls since they have had an extrememly poor safety record in recent years! Im sure this video is quite old since last i heard they have shut down the bungee jumping there?
It’s not an old video, it’s from 31st December 2011
This site always has bullshit titles to pull in viewers. That aside I think the major story should be the cord snaps, which personally I found surprising enough on it’s own.
I think I’m going to give bunjee jumping a miss…
Mental. Imagine if it was that woman pushing her in with no rope, and everyone clapping. I can’t quite see the difference which is why I ain’t going bungee jumping. Never heard a good story about it. You either break something or the rope snaps, brrrrriliant.
Parachuting on the other hand
Having done over 200 bungee jumps in my life I can say it’s not as dangerous as it seems.
She was lucky to survive that though, I can’[t imagine that being very deep water
If you’ve never heard any good stories about bungee jumping, you’ve obviously never spoken to anyone who’s done one!
You can see the state of the Bungee cord before it snaps, that would have put me off. Having done a bungee many years ago its a great rush, but I wouldn’t have gone on that cord for any money.
Bungee ropes are generally made of multiple bungee cords which are then lashed together which gives them the frayed appearance.but i can assure you they’re not fraying. They do have a limited lifespan and all the places I’ve jumped have had different ropes for different weights…
This was a baby jump, I’ve done bigger
