Telly producer FreemantleMedia has done a deal to bring the dustier parts of its back catalogue to the UK version of Netflix, which will see retro shows like Men Behaving Badly and The Naked Civil Servant appear on the new streaming service.
The deal initially covers 115 hours worth of old British telly, plus some other low-profile Australian dramas. It's not that exciting. But Freemantle currently produces enormous blockbusters like The X Factor and cult shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks and The IT Crowd, so if this initial toe-insertion goes well we may see a whole load more mainstream fodder appearing on the streaming site.
