Media baron, professional evil white guy archetype, and technologist Rupert Murdoch recently took to Twitter regarding his company’s historically awful purchase of MySpace. So, what they do wrong? Literally everything.

Luckily, Murdoch—who can’t even properly format the name of the company he bought for $580 million and watched crawl into the abyss of history—”learned lots of valuable expensive lessons.” Emphasis on the latter. [Twitter via The Atlantic Wire]

So what is his excuse for everything he’s touched?
Maybe he should invest his efforts in some sort of surveillance type phone company ……..
MySpace hasn’t crawled into the abyss of history, as you put it. It has more visits per month than Tumblr, and isn’t far behind Twitter and Linkedin – if anyone had that sort of traffic they would be a very rich person . In 2011 it had a revenue over $100million yet it is still making a heavy lose on that, but if the operation costs can be reduced in 2012 and even get a little more users in 2012, and maybe even get a more solid revenue in place then a healthy profit can be seen in 2012, it’s a good bet to make.
