Graffiti artist Jim Rockwell from the ENDoftheLINE collective has created a 16m mural. Nothing odd about that, as that’s what graffiti artists tend to do. But this one’s a PR stunt for new video game Soul Calibur V.
Characters from the OTT fighting game have been immortalised in what the publisher believes is now a “visual masterpiece in the heart of Shoreditch,” which depicts a few of the game’s characters and its logo. The above clip shows a timelapse video of its creation, which took three days to lovingly spray paint in place.
Very clever. But would it make you buy a video game? [Guardian]

Something tells me that song used doesn’t exactly scream Soul Caliber.
Also what they didn’t show was 5 minutes later, some idiot comes along and scrawled a eyesore of a “tag” all over the mural.
It might not make me buy it, but now I’ve heard of it – as has every person that’s read this article – and seeing as that’s the first step in any advertising campaign I reckon they’ve done a pretty good job.
It’s on Great Eastern Street. There is a very affordable strip pub just round the corner. Apparently.
Went past this this morning on my bike. Was tempted to snap a few shots but figured that some news agencies must have picked it up already.
Not really ground breaking is it? This very section of wall has seen artverts (As it shall now be known) before. I think Becks was first to do it last summer.
