Well that didn’t take long. Pirate Parties International is assembling a list of users who had lost data in MU’s shutdown last week as it builds a case for an upcoming lawsuit against the Feds.
The gist of the lawsuit is that users who had been using the file-storage service of legitimate reasons were unfairly denied access to their personal files due to the FBI’s actions. “The widespread damage caused by the sudden closure of Megaupload is unjustified and completely disproportionate to the aim intended,” said Pirates of Catalonia in a press statement. PPI is currently setting up a complaint submission system and is also looking into whether the FBI’s actions potentially violated US law (though you’d figure the FBI would have checked on that first). Five Great Alternatives to MegaUpload
These Hollywood Stars See Nothing Wrong With MegaUpload
Call me cynical but I somehow doubt calling themselves ‘Pirates of Catalonia’ will help their cause…
…makes them sound like they’ll have one hell of a theme tune, though
Is there any reason anyone can think of that the like buttons below posts wouldnt work on my work machine? they work just fine at home
Using IE7
ew. I know!
I believe you answered your own question there.
+1 upgrade? Or better yet install firefox
It was kind of silly to not be able to have notice. I mean there were plenty of legitimate people using it, there’s bound to be loads of people who lost their files.
What about people with monthly, yearly or even life time premium account? Some of them would have lost almost £300, I find this retarded and completely unfair. They should reimburse anyone who had premium accounts and give access to all existing files.
Lifetime Premium account? Yeah, the lifetime of MegaUpload that is.
People should be wary of spending money on lifetime subscriptions, especially with regard to the fickle world of technology.
Doesn’t change the fact that it is very dodgy. It wasn’t megaupload’s choice to close down the webside but the FBI, so they basically robed thousand of people of £300. I understand you view on lifetime accound but it doesn’t change that fact.
