These Homemade Light-Up Music Reactive "Shutter Shades" Would Make Even Kanye Jealous

By Sam Gibbs on at

Fancy something flashy to strap to your face and spice-up your next party? How about a set of light-up shades to go with your electro-pop playlist?

Hooked up in a purely analogue circuit using a microphone; some amps; a low pass filter to isolate the bass, and a resistor ladder to trigger each rung of EL wire stuck on the front of the glasses, the result is an awesome, wearable sound meter.

You wouldn't want to go out in the rain with these on, but as a party piece that'd make even Kanye West envious, it'd work brilliantly. [ch00f via Hack-A-Day]
