When landing a helicopter, I guess there are a few basic rules to follow. Make sure you don’t land on people likely comes first, but a close second is probably to avoid landing near things that stand a good chance of getting blown away. This pilot didn’t remember that part.
Apparently recorded in northwestern Libya, this video shows what looks like a Chinook landing at a festival. And in the process blowing over a giant marquee. I hope nobody got in the way of the metal frame as it landed. [jalparis004 via Reddit]

Holy hell, Libya has self-righting tents.
Would not enjoy being under one of those poles when they came back down.
Watch the guy on the left corner of the tent!! he goes for a wild ride!!
That’s what you call an “in tents” experience.
I’ll get my coat.
That was golden.
For all intents and purposes, they canvassed the area and poled everyone on site. All agreed that it wasn’t too intents for a helicopter landing. Looks like they didnt peg it.
That hasn’t gone well..
I guess a chinook would be the best way to move the occupy london protesters
Is that what all the hippys were doing camping out by St Pauls
Some of those people look like they could have been killed. One was thrown at least 60 feet in the air…
Or make sure you make proper use out of tentsticks in the ground.
Tent pegs, invectus? You’ve not stood beneath a hovering helicopter then, not even a small one, much less a Chinook.
