Filmmaker Casey Neistat shows a neat trick that can turn a shot full of water into a shot filled with whiskey all through… magic? Sleight of hand? Devil’s work? Destiny? No. DENSITY.
It’s obvious to mostly everyone who took some sort of physics class BUT alcohol is lighter than water, therefore it floats to the top or water sinks to the bottom or both but not neither. ANYWAY. The question is however, why does drinking alcohol make people heavy when drinking water doesn’t. Riddle me that smarter people than me of the world. [Casey Neistat]

WOW! Sean Penn is a magician?
There’s more in whisky than just ethanol. And if it was just the ethanol which made the transition, you wouldn’t notice – ethanol is colourless. Also, ethanol is miscible in water, so it could be mixing evenly between the two glasses. The only thing I can be sure of is that the coloured component is moving and is not miscible in water.
In the lab, we regularly use 70% ethanol (30% water) and don’t have any problems with it separating out.
Sorry to be “that guy” but NSFW tag on the video?
