Asus' Wallet-Friendly Transformer Pad 300 Won't Cost You Your First-Born

Lusting after Asus’ brand new Infinity tablet, but your wallet is unlikely to stretch to the £500 mark? How about that fancy red tablet we saw leaked earlier – the Tegra 3-packing Transformer Pad 300?

It’s basically a cut down version of the Infinity with a 10.1-inch 1280x800 IPS display instead of the full-HD one. The rest of the specs look pretty good, with a quad-core Tegra 3 at its beating heart; 1GB of RAM; 16/32GB of storage; a microSD slot, and a 10-hour battery life. If you bolt on the keyboard dock you get 15 hours out of the 300, while Wi-Fi, Blutooth and HDMI-out take care of connectivity. If you’re in the mood for holding a large 10.1-inch tablet up to snap some pics, the eight-megapixel shooter on the back should do you proud, while a front-facing 1.2MP chat cam on the front takes care of Skype duties.

It’ll be equipped with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and come in blue, white and red. Pricing and availability aren’t known yet, but hopefully we’ll see it in the £200-£350 price range. [Liliputing]
