Malaysian photographer Lee Peiling created images so fantastic, it feels like you’re peering into another world. A world populated with helpful praying mantises and ants ready to lend a helping hand.
The photographer utilised the Bokeh photography technique to achieve the ethereal quality of the macro-photos. The bokeh technique emphasises the aesthetic quality of out of focus areas and how those blurred areas render light. The highlights in those blurred areas usually produce a halo of light.
According to Colossal, Lee picked up the camera for the first time three years ago. Imagine how incredible her photographs will be after six years. [Lee Peiling via Colossal]

Unbefuckinglievably good.
Is there any place where I could get the full resolution of these? The butterfly one or the silhouette praying mantis will be my new wallpaper!
Nevermind, source link!
They’re definitely worthy of wallpaper status, aren’t they?
Definitely! So unfortunate you can’t grab the full resolution.
the praying mantis silhouette one looks like he’s been caught doing something. AMazing photos tho, agreed
I’ve found my new wallpaper.
Interesting that it says ‘The owner has disabled downloads’ (which is stupid because viewing it in the browser IS downloading it), yet you can still just right click and Save As (after disabling CSS)…
