We’ve all been there. You just have to have that piece of tech right now, or you desperately need a new cable to hook up your monster sound system pre-party. But where do you get it if you just can’t be arsed to leave the house? Amazon’s no good, that takes a day, how about Maplin? It’s touting a fast new 90-minute delivery to the home service from the moment you click your mouse.
That’s pretty quick, but it’s only available to about 60 per cent of the UK right now, dependant on having a local Maplin store that’s gotten into bed with Shutl to handle deliveries – 83 for now, with another 21 coming online within the next couple of months.
Delivery prices start from about £5, calculated on your location and what you’re ordering, so it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be cheap. But hell, just for the novelty of being able to order a brand new Acer Iconia and have it hand delivered to your place within 90 minutes, I’m tempted to give it a whirl. [TechRadar]
