Fake Steve Jobs Angel Punts an Android Tablet in Taiwan

By Sam Gibbs on at

Some people have no shame. Not content with just ripping off Apple’s tablet design, a Taiwanese Android tablet manufacturer is using a Steve Jobs impersonator to advertise its “Action Pad” and he’s even done-up like an angel.

Frankly, I think it’s a bit much and way, way, way too soon. Not only are they impersonating Jobs, Action Electronics is even taking the piss out of his death with that angel getup. Of course there’s no mention of Jobs or Apple in the actual advert, but you don’t have to be a tech fan to realise that the black turtleneck-wearing figure, who pulls a device out from his pocket during a presentation, is a clear impersonation of Jobs.

Action Electronics told Reuters:

"Steve Jobs always promoted things that were good for people, Apple products, so his image can also promote other things that are good."

I’m sure he’d be thrilled to be showing off a crummy Android tablet, especially considering he hated Google’s mobile OS with a passion – it’s not even Ice Cream Sandwich for goodness sake. [Reuters via Kotaku]
