The Raspberry Pi is so close I can almost taste it. I’m not quite sure why I’m so excited about it; maybe it’s the low cost and pure hackability of it. At any rate, we now have a video walking you through its brand new Fedora Remix to ogle over.
The OS will pack the usual goodies like a proper GUI, Firefox and some basic utilities, all squeezed to fit on a 2GB SD card. The Fedora Remix, produced by the folks from Seneca College, will be the officially recommended OS for the tasty Pi, which apparently should be out of testing in China on Thursday and on its way to Britain soon — I can’t wait. The Pibow Is the Best-Looking Raspberry Pi Case Ever
Not long to go now for the RPi…
SO EXCITED!!!
Me too, but I want Android on it instead. Preferably with all the Google TV goodness.
Android will run like shit on this, CPU and memory wise it’s inferior to a Nexus One.
Raspberry Pi is built for running stripped down native code, and applications that make the best use of its comparatively powerful GPU.
Large sections of the OS can be stripped out (due to it not being a phone or having gps or other sensors). I’m aware that putting Android on this may not be an easy task, but I’m sure it’s doable.
I do like those enclosures and that rack mount kit.
Can we post pictures yet?
SHUTUP AND TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!
That’s a no on the pics. Maybe next time.
