Everybody loves Lego. But if you have friends or family who think that all that plastic isn’t eco-friendly, there’s an alternative: earth blocks.
Made from of a composite of cedar tree bark, compressed dust from sawn cedar logs, and coffee beans — as well as just enough polypropylene to hold it all together — these bricks might convince even the most ardent environmentalist to sit down and play.
You won’t find any vibrant primary colors, though: the sets tend to vary batch-to-batch depending on what goes into them, but they all retain the muted, natural hues of the raw ingredients. [Guggenheim via Design Boom]

These look like the building blocks to a very depressing childhood.
I’m wondering if they could be scaled up to make an alternative to normal house bricks.
These Lego bricks are perfect for recreating those epic scenes from all your favourite modern shooters like Killzone, Gears of War and Call of Duty.
