Church of England Bins Hundreds of Years of History to Go Paperless

By Gary Cutlack on at

The Church of England is looking to update the processes it uses when testing new applicants to the Ordained Ministry, replacing a centuries-old paper test and filing system with a new fangled computer.

Perceptive Software has been asked to come up with tools to streamline the process of bringing people into the church, which would do all sorts of boring modern things that even churches have to do, like integrating things with human resources files and payroll systems.

Priests will fill in application forms online, scan related documents and build fully digital files on those would-be bishops who are sent there from the Jobcentre. [TechEye]
