We peered into some of Google’s fancy London Victoria offices last year, but now an undercover snooper has managed to worm his way into Google’s new, still under construction, Central St Giles Googleplex. What the mole found was Star Trek-inspired tables; airlock-style doors; a whole bunch of awesome sofas; cubbyholes galore, and a roof terrace to absolutely die for – hot damn I’d want to live there, let alone work there.
Apparently Google’s shifting a whole swath of workers out of its second Victoria office over to Central St Giles near Oxford Street, which is closer to some of its “major customers and partners”. This new office is the brain child of Renzo Piano and will be filled with Google’s ad people – no wonder it reminds me of Mad Men.
