You love travelling, but lugging that beast-of-a-suitcase behind you as you attempt to saunter through the airport is really cramping your style. Fear not; Master hacker and Element14 member, Ben Heck, has the solution – an autonomous robot suitcase that’ll simply follow you wherever you go.
I can’t imagine airport security would be too chuffed if you turned up with that thing at the scanners, but you can’t stop progress right? It reminds me a lot of an early version of R2-D2, it’s just a shame it doesn’t come with rocket boosters to propel it over the top of the queues and into the baggage check – something for version two perhaps? I watched this at the weekend (can’t remember If I sent you the link or not) I just wish they provided build instructions.
Yeah, would be good to have a crack at some of these, but if I’m honest, this is a bit beyond me. I stop short at re-soldering knackered headphones.
Since he is sponsored by element 14 I think we can expect a few Raspberry Pi based mods in the future, looking forward to that. Been a long time since I did any soldering but my Pi Case idea will require it.
I don’t have mechanical information, but I do have the code an the list of the electronic parts on my site

Also, I drew my pnp transistor upside down in the video, first time doing something like this and didn’t do so well on camera
Thanks, I’ll give it a look
