Jaguar’s first proper sports car for 40 years has been announced, and it’ll be bolted together by workers in the Jaguar Land Rover factory up in the Midlands.
The F-Type has already been sort of shown off, in the form of the C-X16 concept vehicle that Jag’s owner, Tata Motors, demonstrated last year. The fully formed production version, which will be launched under the incredibly prestigious F-Type name in time for sales to begin in 2013, is expected to be revealed in full later this year.
In the meantime, Jaguar’s owners have released some oddly camouflaged shots that give us some sort of idea what to expect from its return to the sporty end of the market. [F-Type via Jalopnik]

That paint job messes with your eyes; why make such a beautiful car as this look so damn ugly with a daft paint job?!
That is the point!
They have announced the vehicle but they haven’t launched it. That paint job prevents the eye/camera getting a proper view of the outline and therefore prevent the competition getting a proper view of the full vehicle styling – every car company does it whilst working with prototypes.
