LG Giving up on Windows Phone, Says Global Sales "Not Meaningful"

By Gary Cutlack on at

Quotes coming out of Korea paint a rather poor picture of the performance of Windows Phone from one maker's perspective, with LG saying it has no immediate plans for any new WP models as "The total unit of Windows Phone sold in the global market is not a meaningful figure."

You could perhaps argue that some of that is LG's fault, as it hasn't really got to grips with the modern smartphone scene and has made some thoroughly forgettable pieces of hardware in recent years. Still, LG says it'll be sticking with Android as its main platform and will "continue research and development efforts" on Windows Phone, just in case Nokia and Microsoft manage to turn it around and WP takes off in the future.
