The London 2012 Olympics, athletic event to top all athletic events, will be honoured with the installment of the largest McDonald’s fast-food restaurant on Earth. Seems a little ironic, no? [Eater via FoodBeast - Images via McDonald's / Flickr]

Why is there never any mention of the fact that at football games you get things like: burgers, chips, pies etc?
Just because it’s fast food at a sporting venue, what difference does it make? It’s not like it’s the athletes that are going to be going in there!
Calm down Ronald.
What are you on about? Calm down?
Funniest comment ever
Must be about the first comment you’ve ever read then.
I hope the American athletes do eat it, then maybe we can win more track and fields medals.
Considering Bolt had McDonald’s chicken nuggets on race day at the Beijing games we still won’t have much of a chance!
I should think (or, at least, hope) that I’m not the first person to think this:
A building that stylishly designed should not be a McDonald’s.
Most of the Mcdonalds restaurants have looked similar to this for the last 4 years or so. They’re actually fairly stylish these days, though the Asian ones take the biscuit. You feel like you’re in the future whenever you eat in a Mcdonalds over there.
I’m sorry, but that is not a stylish building, nor is any McDonalds. They are processed, tasteless crap, much the same as the food.
There buildings are nice and pretty stylish stop being a negative fuck
Next up, worlds largest fish nd chips shop?
Or the world’s largest people? Zing!
1,500 satisfied customers a day ? really ? with 2,000 staff.. That’s some service … either that or you’re implying the other 10,000s will be unsatisfied
I think what that should say is there are 1,500 SEATS
Why the hell are we spending all of this money on the stupid Olympics?
It doesn’t matter how big this McD is: the queues will be longer than those at Heathrow terminal 5.
It would be better for all if Ronald set up smaller restaurants in many different locations at the Olympic site rather than herding all diners into a vast, hangar sized venue.
is Sumo Wrestling an Olympic discipline? If so, they could do a brisk trade in Sumo themed meals…
People still eat this shit? Has the media not told you enough? lol well it’s your choice.
But you get a free toy in a happy meal!
Is it me or does that not add up?
2000 at around £30 a day each = £60000
1500 customers at about £4 per meal = £6000
honoured?? if i were the city i’d be offended to hear that. but suppose sh!t attracts sh!t.
