The UK launch of Nokia’s Lumia 900 has been delayed due to, you won’t believe this, huge demand for the phone from US buyers. That’s what Nokia says, anyway.
Nokia told V3: “The overwhelming demand for the Lumia 900 in the US with AT&T has, unfortunately, had a small knock-on effect on product availability in the UK.”
Despite the unfortunate data off switch glitch that was discovered shortly after the Lumia 900′s launch, this shockingly positive sales scenario has caused the UK’s late April launch to be pushed back to the middle of May, so Nokia can get its factory workers pulling a few late shifts to make more of the things. Wait, a story on Gizuk about Nokia which isn’t negative….what is the world coming to.
Cant’ say I blame Nokia for prioritising like this. They’ve been struggling to be relevant in the US market for years and they finally have something that is selling well there. Plus, there doesn’t seem to be that much hype here for the 900 anyway compared to the likes of the HTC one series and the Next Galaxy.
No, they still are trying their best to put a negative spin on it.
“That’s what Nokia says, anyway.”
Yes, because it’s impossible that all the negativity from the media is unfounded.
I wonder if they will say the same thing the next time Apple release a press release for teh same reason.
Because lets be honest Apple do this every time to get more hype for their products, every single time, and everyone too busy lining up to say how great the update was, and thank Apple to sit back and say anything about how false the whole thing looks.
Just patiently waiting for News Corp to buy a stake in Gawker. Cut Nokia some slack, Cutlack.
Just a couple of points. This site is bought to you by Future Publishing not Gawker. Also, this site has no way sunk to the point that it is on a level with News Corp.
Thanks for clearing that up, I like Giz UK a little bit more.
Good
The only way I can believe that is if people are buying it because it’s available in pretty colours.
well you cant really deny it does look pretty good. Its one of the few things around that actually stands out
Yeah if it was running Android, I’d want one.
