Since the arrest of the unfortunately monickered “Abortion Hacker” for his role in accessing the records of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service’s web site, a further 2,500 attempts have been made to hack into the BPAS server.
The news comes from the BPAS itself, which says all of these subsequent attempts to steal details of its UK customer base have failed. A BBC reporter claims over half of the attack attempts came from users with IP addresses based in the US, although that may just be the preferred routing option of those that prefer to stay anonymous. Some people really are scumbags, just because people are considering a decision which you don’t agree with you go out of your way to try and obtain their contact details so you can target them. Vile creatures
I agree, it’s wrong to do wrong things just because someone else is doing something that you think is wrong. Two wrongs dont make a right. Especially, as above, doing something that would hurt someone so much.
However, if someones going round murdering people, I’d be almost as evil not to do something about it. If I saw someone beating up someone or about to kill them in the street (I hope, that is), I’d go up to them and puch them in the F’ing face. Hard.
Now I’m not going to punch a pregnant woman, that’d be silly. But I wouldn’t mind annoying them quite alot until they realised what they were doing and stoppped. Posting peoples addresses is pure horrible, no doubt, but it would be certainly worth it to threaten to do that, if it upset a woman enough to make her change her mind about killing someone.Like I said, I’d resort to violence to save a life, as I’d hope anyone would, I’m certainly going to resort to annoying someone. And annoying people who promote/advertise/arrange it would be quite constructive as well.
Just my opinion.
People have the right to their own beliefs and shouldn’t be harassed for it. The large majority of people will have something they do or that they believe in someone else doesn’t think is right. And I’m sure that rape victims don’t want to be reminded every time some selfish douche out there wants to have a go.
Our servers have been receiving a hack attempt a second since Christmas Eve and they’re still trying. I calculate that at well over 10,000 attempts. It’s routine and not newsworthy.
