Sir Jony Ive Celebrates World IP Day With a New Gong

By Gary Cutlack on at

Apple's legendary, London-bred designer of its modern era technology has picked up another award to go alongside his 2012 knighthood, thanks to the Intellectual Property Office declaring Sir Jonathan Ive the top British Visionary Innovator.

The IPO ran a user poll to find the country's favourite maker of innovative products, to help celebrate the non-stop global party that is World IP Day. Ive stormed home, crushing popular web innovator Tim Berners-Lee, and suggesting that perhaps the poll circulated among Apple-friendly communities?

Anyway. Must rush. Off to the pub for World IP Day drinks. [IPO via Mac World]
