Sony, Fuji and several other companies have made offers to team up with battered camera maker Olympus, with the Japanese giant said to be considering offers of partnership deals with its local rivals.
It’s not made particularly clear what is meant by “partnership” though. Business news portal Bloomberg terms the potential deals as being “capital alliance offers” from Fuji, Sony, medical imaging specialist Terumo and other unnamed companies, which sounds like some sort of complex merger of parts of its business may be on the cards to save the troubled camera maker.

Sounds more like the Japanese government can’t afford to let an iconic Japanese brand employing millions to go under but can’t, given the current financial difficulties, step-in to give additional state aid so they are using other major Japanese brands to do it instead.
There really isn’t any other rationale for Fuji, Sony etc helping one of their biggest competitors.

must admit I did a double take when I saw the headline.
Did you think: “Sony and Fujifilm!!! I wouldn’t have thought Nintendo would be a much fit.”
