Despite the rather warm reception given to its all-new HTC One range of Android phones, HTC itself would appear to be in a bit of crisis. Its chief financial officer has left after only a year in the job, amid poor share price performance and a general consensus that Samsung's going to smash it into the ground this year.
After a ground-breaking 2010 which saw the HTC Desire spearhead the adoption of Android around the world, the company's fortunes have been on the slide. Profits for the first quarter of 2012 were down a huge 70 per cent, while analysts believe that whatever Samsung announces on May 3rd will make 2012 another disappointing year for HTC, no matter how many great reviews the One series gathers.
