Good news for Raspberry Pi pre-orderers. The first batch of Raspberry Pis have been checked, CE marked, packaged, and handed over to both RS and Element 14 for shipping out to the lucky few. After this first batch, both RS and Element 14 will be handling the manufacturing and shipping themselves, so hopefully everyone else will get their slice of Pi soon too.
We’ve been waiting over a six weeks since the Pi went up for sale, then came the sell outs; the mess up at the factory, and then the insistance that it needed the CE mark before shipping, but now we’re finally going see the mini-marvels making their way into your own grubby mitts — you can watch them get packaged right here.
Let us know if you get an updated shipping date from either Element 14 or RS, and make sure you take good care of it once you’ve got it – a lot of blood, sweat and tears seems to have gone into these beauties. [Raspberry Pi, ITN]
Thanks Darrell!

I received an email from RS Online with a unique authentication code to place an order for dispatch within 7 days. As I’ve already ordered through Farnell, if someone would like it, give us a shout!
