We've been waiting for some time now, but we still haven’t seen any Google TVs in Britain yet. Now Sony’s apparently set to start selling Google TV set-top boxes in Europe kicking off in September this year, complete with Google Play, Android apps, and Sony’s own services including Music Unlimited. Considering our US cousins have had them for ages now, it’s about time we got them in Blighty.

They don’t sound all that cheap though, clocking in at around £170 for just the Google TV or £250-odd for one with a Blu-ray drive. Considering a Roku sets you back just £50 and even an Apple TV only costs £99, it better bet bloody magic to justify the high cost. I’m getting the feeling these aren’t going to be worth the wait, but I’m hoping to be proven wrong. [Les Echos via GigaOM]
