Remember when Adobe said the only way to fix a recently discovered Photoshop CS5.5 vulnerability was to upgrade to CS6? I don’t think their last announcement ever implied that they weren’t fixing the older versions with the vulnerability as well. It just said that the fix was done on CS6.
Sounds like it was a lot of hype over nothing.
I think there’s a truth in what you’re saying, but there’s also an element of Adobe having a reputation for poor Customer Service, aftercare and support for previous versions etc. to the point that it would surprise no-one if they completely abandoned CS 5.5 a mere matter of months after release.
The fact that they even posted a paid upgrade as a solution shows an element of disdain and/or naivety with regards to their customers.
