Apple's Already Building Its Apple HDTV In China

By Sam Gibbs on at

Take this with a massive pinch of salt, but a report of out China tells us that Foxconn has just received orders from Apple for its much-rumoured Apple HDTV, and it's currently doing a trial production run for last-minute prototype testing.

We heard rumours that the Canadians were already testing the fabled Apple smart TV back in February, while prototypes were spotted in May, which were apparently just giant Apple monitors with Siri.

While this is a believe-it-when-you-see-it situation, it seems relatively plausible that Apple's getting ready to test some final prototypes of the thing. Of course, Apple could sit on them for ages before shipping an actual product, if enough content deals aren't already lined-up. [First Financial Daily via MacWorld]
