Google's popular front man Eric Schmidt has gone on record regarding some of the company's plans for Motorola Mobility, the hardware maker it's just finalised the purchase of. There will be lots of money going in to it, basically. It wasn't all about the patents after all.
Schmidt was speaking at Google's Big Tent conference, where he said: "There will be more investment in Motorola devices under the Motorola brand and a lot more investment in Android," with these Motorola-made devices continuing to be made and sold under the Motorola banner.
We suspect Android investment #1 is subsidising a decent tablet, so the Android tab scene may stand a chance of becoming a little less of a fragmented nightmare in the future. Techradar]
